Northwest Film Forum is screening a documentary film “Manakamana” for a week in Seattle beginning 20th June, 2014 Friday. The film will be screened till 26th, 8pm nightly at NW Film Forum, Capitol Hill – Seattle.

Manakamana, a film by Stephanie Spray and Pacho Velez is a powerful ethnographic documentary about pilgrims who journey through the lush Nepali mountains by cable car to reach the famous Manakamana Temple. This temple of the Hindu goddess Durga is believed to have the power to fulfill wishes. What occurs in the film, through a series of uncut shots, is a slowly emerging meditation on age, faith, and class.
