Nepal Seattle Society (NSS) celebrated one of the biggest festivals of Nepal, “Dashain”, at Shoreline Conference Center on 5th October 2013, Saturday.
The program was honored by the gracious presence of Seattle Mayor Mike McGinn, Treasurer Habib & Commissioner Deb Dutt Dash from Seattle, Washington. More than 500 people from Greater Seattle area participated in the program and enjoyed the Nepalese cultural show along with exquisite dinner and renewed community ties.
NSS, a non profit working for promoting Nepalese culture in the state of Washington has been organizing the Dashain Celebration every year since it’s establishment in 1999. Through the Dashain celebration, NSS aims at creating deeper respect and understanding of Nepalese culture, thereby creating the platform for bringing the community members together. Dashain is also an important festival since it reminds everyone of the universal principle that truth, justice and virtue prevails deception, injustice and wickedness.
